'Final Fantasy XI: The Vana'diel Collection' Makes Its Retail Debut

Square Enix, announced that Final Fantasy XI: The Vana'diel Collection is on sale today. The special gold foil All-In-One packaging includes the Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia expansion packs as well as the Tetra Master mini-game, on one DVD.

Final Fantasy XI subscribers will receive their first 30 days of access without charge. In addition, the package will include a Vana'diel Buddy Pass, which allows a friend to create an account and play the basic Final Fantasy XI game free for 30 days. Also included is an iTunes Collector's Card for one free music download from the Final Fantasy XI soundtrack.

A blend of sorcery and technology, the once peaceful world of Vana'diel stands at the brink of war as a power struggle slowly emerges between three nations. The struggle focuses on the control of crystals, the essential source of all creation. An unknown force rises in Vana'diel with a hunger for the energy within the crystals ...

In Final Fantasy XI, players undertake multiple adventures through Vana'diel, a complex gaming world with hundreds of areas to explore. The gaming universe contains the award-winning visual content, innovative gameplay, and deep storyline that the FINAL FANTASY series is famous for. The inclusion of the Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia expansion packs expand the storyline and allow an even greater variety of jobs, higher-level skills, and abilities. Massive additions have recently been made including a bevy of new spells, abilities, items, equipment and quests as well as new systems such as guild points, merit points, fishing, and Ballista rankings. New areas have also been added, opening up an even larger environment to explore.
