With Marty Turco as the cover athlete for NHL 2K6, it was important that controlling the goalie was both simple and effective in NHL 2K6. Through NHL 2K6’s Maximum Goaltending™ feature, taking control of the goalie has never been easier.
Through Maximum Goaltending, controlling the actions of the goalie are now tied to the Right Analog Stick. Through four different directions on the Right Analog stick, pressing down will put the goalie into a butterfly stance, pressing up will make the goalie poke check, and pressing right or left will have the goalie dive left or right. The intuitive goalie controls leave it up to the player when to correctly time his maneuvers and to recognize when to make the correct save decisions.
