'Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires' (NDS) - 7 New Screens

by Rainier on Sept. 23, 2005 @ 2:55 p.m. PDT

Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires features an original control scheme that lets players manage their armies using the system's touch screen. This intuitive system lets players give orders, change formations and select units with ease, leading to smooth, organized battles rarely seen outside of a PC real-time strategy game. In between conquests, players can take part in touch screen mini-games, such as castle sieges and sea battles. For the ultimate in feudal warfare, Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires lets up to eight players go head to head in ferocious battles

Utilizing both the top and bottom screen for strategy, players outline battle strategies on the touch screen using the DS stylus. The top screen offers a view of the terrain that battles will take place on, while the bottom gives players a detailed view of troops and their surroundings. This detailed view also offers a zoom feature that can be utilized at any moment using the touch screen. Either view can be switched to on-the-fly with use of the DS shoulder button.

In "Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires," players step into a dark and violent feudal Japan, and assume the role of one of two brothers embroiled in a battle for the title of Shogun. The goal is to secure the most land and become the ultimate ruler of Japan. Once this important goal is achieved, only then will players learn the ancient secret of the lost army of rebel monks.

Wireless multiplayer battles for up to two players, and touch screen mini-games including duels and castle sieges, enhance the replay value of "Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires."

"Real Time Conflict: Shogun Empires" is E10+ (Everyone 10 and older) by the ESRB.
