'Beatmania' (PS2) - 21 New Screens

by Rainier on Jan. 25, 2006 @ 6:10 p.m. PST

Beatmania combines high-energy music with videos, allowing wannabee deejays the ability to create and perform music. Unlike complicated sequencers or software that allows users to drop in samples and play them back, Beatmania is designed as a video game with an emphasis on having fun and feeling the music.

Utilizing a specially designed controller that features a turntable, players must create and perform music by hitting the notes that appear on screen and scratching the turntable at the right time. beatmania lets gamers spin the tracks, feel the vibe, drop the beats and create the pulsing energy of a club in their own homes.

Key Features:

  • Spin the music to more than 50 club tracks, including pop, techno, hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass, trance and house
  • Interactive music experience that lets the player mix and perform the music in real-time
  • Contains two different games in one product – the original beatmania and beatmania IIDX
  • Exciting two player modes that allow players to perform cooperatively or competitively
  • Exclusive hits and music from some of the hottest DJs and remixers in the scene
  • Replay feature lets players save their performances for later viewing
  • Compete with others players around the nation with online internet rankings
  • Multiple modes and difficulty settings makes beatmania easy to learn and challenging to master
  • Pulsating audio and visual presentation delivers the club experience to the home through the PlayStation 2 console
  • Specially designed turntable controller accurately re-creates the arcade experience
