Cinemaware Launches Marquee Label

by Rainier on Jan. 4, 2006 @ 3:04 p.m. PST

Cinemaware today announced the launch of Cinemaware Marquee, an affiliated label that will specifically showcase groundbreaking content by independent game developers from around the globe.

“Cinemaware Marquee is the equivalent of an independent film label featuring innovative titles with truly compelling gameplay,” said Lars Batista, Vice President, Development of eGames. “Our goal is to deliver consistently incredible and epic games. There are many extremely talented developers making amazing titles in Europe, Asia, and elsewhere. Many of these games never make it to the North American market, so we are aggressively seeking out and publishing this unique content that serious gamers in the U.S. and Canada will love.”

Cinemaware Marquee will not specialize in any particular genre, but consistent with the traditional Cinemaware label, will represent the highest standards in production and innovative gameplay. The label’s initial focus will be on high-end PC titles, but will soon move into the console and handheld worlds with games for today’s and upcoming systems.

“Our new Cinemaware brands are crucial to eGames’ overall strategy of diversifying far beyond the casual games segment, and Cinemaware Marquee pushes that vision into new places,” said Richard Siporin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, eGames. “Publishing genuinely ambitious games, for all platforms, that are developed all over the world will establish Cinemaware Marquee as a top label in its own right, and will ultimately be great for gamers and our business.”
