Wednesday, October 25, 2006 Shipping Announcements

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

.hack//G.U. Vol.1: Rebirth (PS2)

In .hack//G.U. Vol.1: Rebirth, “The World” returns rebuilt and as successful as ever. When in-game actions begin to affect the player’s reality, Haseo begins his quest to uncover the secrets hidden deep within the complex online world.

“For the next installment of the .hack series, we wanted to continue to explore the boundaries of perceived reality while making the game more accessible to new players,” said Naruo Uchida, Vice President of Localization at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. “.hack//G.U. Vol.1: Rebirth takes place in a darker world, where players are continually faced with the challenges of ruthless Player Killings, and unexplainable mysterious events, but still maintains the humor and distinct personality of the original titles.”

What is reality? The answer to this question becomes less clear as players delve deeper into “The World.” After the data for his character is mysteriously erased, the seasoned MMO player Haseo must start over and begin the long journey to return to his position as a feared “Player-Killer” killer. By forming groups and guilds with new characters, players will become immersed in a captivating new storyline as they help Haseo progress and explore the mysteries inside “The World.” An intuitive desktop interface allows players to browse forums for in-game hints, receive news headlines from the outside world and receive emails from in-game friends and guild members. With the ability to hack into and manipulate “The World,” players can gain an advantage over their enemies and shape Haseo’s destiny.

Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 (PSP)

Ancient China’s greatest warriors have rocked the foundations of heaven and earth for over 2,000 years. Now KOEI’s ‘Warriors Worth a Thousand’ return in a sequel that eclipses the original with an exquisite array of features!

KOEI’s Dynasty Warriors franchise is widely recognized for establishing the popular Tactical Action category. For the first time in the series, up to 4 players can engage in multiplayer combat including a Battle Royal mode. Players can now unlock up to 300 officers (three times as many as the original), and then wirelessly trade these officers with other players. Players can also manage a stable of up to 8 horses and elephants. Each mount will gain experience during battle and will prove a valuable military asset when setting out to conquer the game’s more than 50 stages and 31 maps.

Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 includes the complete pantheon of all 48 Dynasty Warriors, with branching story paths for each kingdom. Game modes include Musou, Multiplayer and Free mode, plus a Camp mode where players can view detailed information on weapons, officers and stages. The game also gives players a full view of the battlefield action using the PSP’s wide-screen display.

Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 is rated “T” (Teen- Violence), and can allow play for 1-4 players using wireless (ad hoc) (Vs. Play). The suggested retail price is US$39.99.
