I. PREFACE

Ten to fifteen years ago, games had to focus on one thing. No technological glitch could lure people from what is the heart of video games: a good gameplay. Many ideas were tried at this time, most of them forgotten. That's why we decided to become game archeologists and to revisit the classics: Death Rally, Speedball, Smash TV, Ikari Warriors...

For us, old school is good school, just waiting for some polish. We are not making games for hardcore gamers; we just want simple, efficient and immediately fun games.

That's what we tried to do with Fast Lane Carnage, and we sincerely hope you will enjoy. Do not hesitate to send us feedbacks about the game - feedback@parallax-factory.com (in English please, "ich bin eine schlechte germanist"), I'll read them personally.

The second key concept is that we don't want people to have to choose between 3 audio CDs, 2 DVDs, or just a single game. Games need to be cheaper, and the good news is that old games were done by 2 or 3 people in 4 months. Using cost-cutting approaches and thanks to our German publisher, Frogster, we bring you this brand new game at a reasonable price.

II. INTRODUCTION

2021. Fast Lane Carnage takes place in the shallows of the metropolis, where wealth is out of reach, where police doesn't come anymore. Even the cleaners don't dare coming. Most of the people, excluded of the corporatist system, live from the wastes and robbery of the society. Drugs rule the streets, and all the solutions are imagined for one purpose: gaining money. The only way to live a better life and to even imagine a future is to move to the heart of the metropolis, behind the guarded walls. But the rent is too high, and only the wealthiest of the shallows can move there. To be rich in this gigantic dump, there are not many means. Most try crime (prostitution, drug, smuggling...). Nonetheless, another solution exists.

People from the metropolis stopped using manual cars years ago. The wrecks get piled up in the perimeter of the city. Some dwellers started to appropriate those bangers and to love them like their own child. As they needed a discharge system, races started to be organised. Money didn't stay for long out of this, and the little money people have got directly dedicated to it. Becoming a driver is now the new hope of upward mobility.

III. INSTALLATION

To install the game, please insert the Fast Lane Carnage CD into your CD-ROM drive.

NOTE: If you have deactivated the autorun function of the CD-ROM drive, please double-click on My Computer, then double-click on the icon of the CD-ROM drive in which the Fast Lane Carnage CD has been inserted, in the following window, just double click on the setup.exe file.

The installation of the game will begin automatically after a couple of seconds.
Then just follow the subsequent steps of the installation wizard.

IMPORTANT:

- You should close any other programs before starting Fast Lane Carnage.

UNINSTALLING

To uninstall click on the Uninstall Fast Lane Carnage link in the program folder Fast Lane Carnage.
