You don't need to tell your character to sit on the sofa or to fetch himself some food. You just tell them what to do each evening and they get on with it.

Kudos has many parts to it. You need to decide what you are going to do for a living (you start off with a low paid job), what kind of things you will do to socialize, and who is most important out of your friends. Sometimes you'll be arranging social events, sometimes your friends will invite you places, and sometimes you will prefer to stay at home. Do you want your character to become a talented musician? a highly-paid lawyer? an actor? Are you going to spend your money on night-school legal classes or blow it all on drink and video games?
