Creative Assembly is not only working on Total War Medieval II, but also an official expansion pack for the original Rome: Total War, according to a preview on C&VG. The addon will feature six new historical battles, all playable in multiplayer, four new factions (Alexander's Macedonian army, The Persians, The Indians and the Barbarians) and roughly 50 new units, such as Theban Sacred band, Indian Elephants, Persian immortals and Indian naked female archers.

'Rome: Total War - Alexander' Revealed

The expansion offers an epic addition to the Total War series boasting more that 30 hours of gameplay and will feature a brand new campaign game map, spanning Alexander's unification of Greece and his subsequent conquest of the Persian Empire. The expansion pack will also include six new historical battles portraying Alexander's triumphs against the Greek, Persian, and Indian forces. These new battles will also be available for online and LAN multiplayer use.
