Eidos has signed a number of agreements to license two of its new leading titles, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman for development as video slot games across online and land-based casino platforms.

Eidos has signed an exclusive licensing deal with gaming software provider, Microgaming. Under the agreement, Microgaming’s rights to Lara Croft and Tomb Raider are renewed enabling exclusive development of games for online and land based casino platforms. In addition, Microgaming has been granted similar rights for the Hitman series.

Microgaming will focus on the latest Lara Croft adventure, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend, which recently reached the number one chart position in all major video gaming territories following its release in April 2006. The Hitman games will focus on Agent 47 and the recently released Hitman: Blood Money. Eidos also recently confirmed that it has signed an option to a major Hollywood Studio for the feature film rights to Hitman.

The video slot game version of Tomb Raider will also be available on mobile phones through Spin3, in an exclusive licensing agreement.

“We are continually looking for new commercial channels to develop our successful games brands. Microgaming has had already achieved much with Tomb Raider for video slot gaming and this made them the perfect choice for the Hitman series”, said Jane Cavanagh, chief executive of SCI Entertainment. ‘We are also excited about the prospects of taking Lara into the rapidly growing market for video slots on the mobile with Spin3.”
