'The Divine' Announced - Screens

by Rainier on July 17, 2006 @ 11:13 a.m. PDT

The Divine is an old-school space combat with stunning graphics, a compelling storyline and, most importantly, solid gameplay, providing fans of the genre with an epic experience that raises the standard of what independent games can be.

A hundred years ago Earth became uninhabitable from the impact of a asteroid. Those that escaped Earth fled to the few space colonies available. The overcrowding and lack of resources made the colonies reject some of the survivors. Only the DIVINE were granted access. The rest of the survivors fled in search of a new planet that they could call home.

At the present time, the newly created factions, between those on the colonies, the space pirates, and those who went off in the search for a new inhabitable planet, have gone to war with each other.

Play as Robert Arken, who is from the Colonial Federation, as you try to heal the broken ties between all these groups. Your weapon is no diplomacy but your piloting skills. Use them to stop the others from spreading chaos throughout the galaxy.

Features:

  • Play through over 10 space levels
  • Play through story-driven and action packed levels in either first or third person perspective
  • Fly multiple space crafts
  • Divine uses Packom's own proprietary engine
