'Gothic 3' Will be StarForce Free

JoWood and European publisher Deepsilver revealed that its upcoming action/rpg Gothic 3 will not be using the StarForce protection, but instead they opted to go with SecuRom after thousands of fans, and even one of the Piranha Bytes developers, signed a petition to pressure both parties to not include the beleaguered Russian protection scheme.
