by Rainier on Sept. 25, 2006 @ 9:54 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Mage Knight: Apocalypse (PC)

Featuring a richly-detailed universe, epic single player campaign and co-operative modes, Mage Knight: Apocalypse is the debut title launching from Namco Bandai Games America Inc.'s PC division.

"Being the debut release from Namco Bandai's PC division, we are delighted that Mage Knight: Apocalypse has now shipped to retail," said Makoto Iwai, Senior Vice President of the Development Group for Namco Bandai Games America Inc. "We are confident that players will find the game's detailed universe, ferocious battles, evolutionary character development and unlimited customization options as engrossing as we do."

Readers of PC Gamer will also be given the opportunity to order a limited edition figurine in the November 2006 issue. Copies of Mage Knight: Apocalypse will also come with a special promotion code, whereby gamers can order a special Mage Knight figure set of the in game characters for the table-top miniature game at a 25% discount off of the suggested retail price.

Based on the best-selling collectible miniature game from WizKids Games, Mage Knight: Apocalypse allows players to assume the role of one of five warriors sworn by oath to seek out the heart of evil plaguing the land and destroy it no matter the cost. Aided by the Solonavi, a mysterious and magical race, the guardians commence a quest to rescue their world from the clutches of an evil army determined to bring about the Apocalypse. As the forces of chaos rise, a creature of unimaginable destructive power is unleashed to lead the enemy: the Apocalypse Dragon, a seemingly unstoppable five-headed horror. In order to combat this monstrosity, players must rally support from all of the land's factions and recruit brave heroes to battle for their cause. The future rests on the shoulders of these noble adventurers, and the ultimate clash for battlefield supremacy is about to begin.

Mage Knight: Apocalypse is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB.

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (NGC/PS2)

Gamers can play as any of 15 characters from one of Cartoon Network's most popular television shows in the fighting/adventure game, which is also scheduled to be available for Nintendo Wii and GBA in November of this year.

"The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy features a unique brand of humor and animation that translates perfectly to this intense, frenetic video game," said Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. "We have worked closely with Cartoon Network and show creator Maxwell Atoms to ensure the game retains the unique energy of the show, and we're excited to bring Grim, Billy, Mandy and their friends to video game consoles."

"We have a very successful relationship with Midway," said Christina Miller, vice president of U.S. consumer products for Cartoon Network Enterprises, the networks' global merchandising division. "They really understand the fun and humor that sets Cartoon Network apart and they are able to translate that into exciting gaming formats for our fans. 'The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy' is no exception."

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy videogame will set 15 of the popular television show's characters against each other in a fighting/adventure game. Whether players use Billy's berserk attack or Mandy's deadly smile, all of the characters will feature individual abilities based on their personalities. Players will be able to smash objects, destroy environments and battle in 20 fully interactive environments from the show.

In battle mode, up to four players can use a multitude of weapons in destructible arenas like the "Desert of Doom" and the "Underworld" to battle it out and be the last one standing. Players also have the option to play on their own or with a friend in mission mode, a series of 45 missions where players can unlock new weapons and characters like Hoss Delgado and Fred Fredburger.
