Wideload Announces Web Game 'Cyclomite'

by Rainier on Oct. 10, 2007 @ 9:30 a.m. PDT

Wideload Shorts announced its support of InstantAction.com with the debut of its first title, Cyclomite, an action game where the player pilots the Cyclomite through relentless meteor storms in order to save the universe.

“The Wideload team is really looking forward to meeting with fellow developers and game enthusiasts and showing them the first Wideload Shorts game at this year’s Independent Games Conference,” said Scott Corley, Director for Wideload Shorts. “And, of course, we are looking forward to heckling Alex when he’s giving his keynote.”

InstantAction.com is the first web-based video game network and will provide original action games through standard web browsers. Cyclomite will be a debut title for the site, which will go live in January 2008. Gamers around the world can sign up now to get information on www.instantaction.com.

“For InstantAction to succeed, we need to have the top Indie developers participating. So we are stoked to have Wideload bring us an original title,” said Josh Williams, CEO of Garagegames.com. “We haven’t stopped there. We expect other top developers to announce their support Instant Action in the coming months.”

In Wideload Shorts' premier game, the player pilots the Cyclomite through relentless meteor storms in order to save the universe. During the fast-paced action, the player controls a multicolored Cyclomite ring in the center of their field, catching meteors as they fly toward the center of the storm. Two multiplayer modes expand on the fun of Cyclomite, with hundreds of co-operative multiplayer levels, and an intensely competitive versus multiplayer game!
