'Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock' (ALL) Exclusive Songs Confirmed

by Rainier on Oct. 16, 2007 @ 3:44 p.m. PDT

Guitar Hero fans will channel their inner rock god using Gibson Guitar's Les Paul and Kramer models, experience new features and explosive content including a new multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, grueling boss battles, a bevy of exclusive unlockable content and authentic rock venues.

Fire up the fretboard, crank up the amp and get ready to rock like never before. Guitar Hero III drops you into the spotlight of the largest and most legendary rock concert ever.

The star-studded soundtrack includes master tracks by such legendary artists as The Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys, Muse and Pearl Jam. With added songs as made legendary by Kiss, Alice Cooper and Heart. Now drop that air guitar, tune your exclusive new Les Paul Guitar Controller and shred the night away with Guitar Hero III.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock boss battles give fans a chance to compete against legendary guitarists such as Slash and now Tom Morello. Players are required to deplete the boss' Rock Meter before the boss goes into their Death Drain solo, which always means 'lights-out.' After defeating a boss, players unlock that guitarist as a playable character and continue to the encore for the set list, which is a master recording of one of their respective bands' most well-known tracks. When Morello is defeated, the next performance is "Bulls on Parade," during which Morello performs on stage alongside the player.

Included in each Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Companion Pack is a unique code users may input at the Guitar Hero Code official website to receive a unique Xbox Live code. Users may then input the Xbox Live code into their Xbox 360 console when logged into Xbox Live, to download the expansion songs. Xbox Live codes are expected to be available when Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock launches on October 28.

The three expansion tracks are "Carcinogen Crush" from AFI (from an EP due in December), "Tina" from Flyleaf and a remix of Marilyn Manson's "Putting Holes In Happiness" by Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The latter two recordings also are heard on the soundtrack CD, along with AFI's "Miss Murder," Sonic Youth's "Kool Thing," Queens Of The Stone Age's "3's And 7's," Smashing Pumpkins' "Cherub Rock," Velvet Revolver's "Slither," Living Colour's "Cult Of Personality," Rise Against's "Prayer Of The Refugee," the Guitar Hero rendition of "Devil Went Down To Georgia" by Steve Ouimette and the game's intro by Slash, who is also a character in the game.
