by Rainier on Nov. 1, 2007 @ 5:46 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

The Command & Conquer Saga (PC)

This massive compilation of over a dozen Command & Conquer games includes the award-winning Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars and all the titles featured in Command & Conquer The First Decade. The Command & Conquer Saga marks the largest PC franchise compilation to date.

The Command & Conquer franchise has defined the Real-time strategy (RTS) genre with its signature fast and fluid gameplay, cutting-edge visuals, epic storylines, and rich campaign missions. The series has evolved over a decade, spawned over a dozen titles, and continues to be the genre benchmark by which all RTS games are measured. With its explosive style of warfare, the Command & Conquer franchise has grown over the years to span multiple fictional genres, including the science fiction Tiberium Universe, the revisionist history of the Command & Conquer Red Alert Universe, and a twist on modern warfare with Command & Conquer Generals.

The Command & Conquer Saga contains the following titles:

  • Command & Conquer (August 1995)
  • Command & Conquer: The Covert Operations (April 1996)
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert (October 1996)
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert Counterstrike (March 1997)
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert The Aftermath (September 1997)
  • Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (August 1999)
  • Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Firestorm (February 2000)
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 (October 2000)
  • Command & Conquer: Red Alert Yuri’s Revenge (October 2001)
  • Command & Conquer: Renegade (February 2002)
  • Command & Conquer Generals (February 2003)
  • Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour (September 2003)
  • Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (March 2007)

The Command & Conquer Saga, rated “T” for Teen , has a US MSRP of $49.99.

Dementium: The Ward (NDS)

Those who dare to play Dementium: The Ward will find themselves trapped in a derelict hospital with no memory of who they are or how they got there. Only by exploring the dark corridors and facing off with its horrific denizens will you have any hope of escaping and finding the truth…but perhaps you’ll find there are some things better left unknown.

“Even we are taken aback by how creepy Dementium has turned out, and we made the game!” Said Jools Watsham, Creative Director for Renegade Kid. “I’m happy to say that we’ve exceeded our own expectations and created a game that sets new standards for handheld titles, as well as the horror genre.”

“This game will scare the sh** out of you,” said Harry Miller, ‘El Presidente’ for Gamecock Media Group. “There’s a hundred other reasons why I’d recommend Dementium: The Ward, but that is by far the best one.”

Developed by Renegade Kid, the first-person survival-horror game is rated M for Mature, and is available now for $29.99.

The Barbie as The Island Princess (GBA/NDS/PS2/Wii/PC)

Based on Mattel Entertainment's newest made-for-DVD movie, the video game allows players to relive their favorite movie moments as they take on the role of Princess Rosella, the shipwrecked princess who is raised by a group of animal friends and rescued by the adventurous Prince Antonio from her tropical island.

"The Barbie as The Island Princess video game allows gamers to interact with everyone's favorite Barbie characters in an easy, pick-up and play experience," said David Oxford, General Manager, Activision, Inc. The Barbie as The Island Princess video game delivers an immersive experience for casual and ardent Barbie fans alike, with seven playable characters and five re-created locations straight from the Barbie as The Island Princess made-for-DVD. Offering single player or multiplayer modes, the game features 28 exciting mini-games, allowing players to collect flowers, design and decorate dresses, and star-gaze with Prince Antonio on the ship deck. Additionally, the game contains unlockable content including special characters, costumes, additional movie footage and more.

Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa (PC)

Tabula Rasa, a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game for the PC where players are thrust into an exciting intergalactic struggle, is the vision of gaming legend Richard Garriott. The game combines a rich game world and deep storyline with military combat and fast paced action. Set in a near-future science fiction backdrop, players must fight to save humanity against hostile alien enemies trying to gain control of the universe.

"Now the fun begins! I can't wait to join thousands of other players in this exciting galactic war," said Garriott, the game's executive producer. "It is time for us to release Tabula Rasa to the players. I am eager to see player reaction to the game, and am ready to build on what we've started here. We've got plans for new features and expansions for the foreseeable future and I'm hoping the players will enjoy the game and get excited about what's in store for them next!"

"Dell and NCsoft have worked together closely over the past few years," said Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Inc. "I think Richard has really created a compelling game in Tabula Rasa. This game gives those who enjoy role-playing a rich and deep experience, while appealing to action gamers too. He's taken this game beyond being the next MMO entry into the field. It really is a fun, fast paced combat game that provides even more depth for players who want it. I'm excited to join the fight!"

The game introduces several innovative elements to massively multiplayer online games, including a Character Cloning System that allows players to explore different character classes without having to create a new character, and dynamic battlefields where players feel the frenetic action of combat in an ongoing war.

Tabula Rasa launches commercial service in North America and Europe on November 2, 2007. The standard edition box of Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa will be available at major online retailers at an expected retail price of $49.99 and at the PlayNC store. After the first month, players will be charged a monthly subscription fee of US$14.99. Sixty-day game time cards will also be available at many North American retailers for an expected retail price of US$29.99. The game is rated Teen by the ESRB.
