'FlatOut: Head On' (PSP) - 10 New Screens

by Rainier on Dec. 19, 2007 @ 11:17 a.m. PST

FlatOut: Head On takes advantage of the PSP's recently enabled faster processing power and the instant pick up and play arcade style, boasting the most four-wheeled mayhem ever seen on PSP, with no less than nine different game modes, including carnage challenges, full career, destruction derbies, multiplayer party mode and the bone-crunching ragdoll stunt mode.

FlatOut is the benchmark in grand scale destruction racing. Fans of the console versions will be able to take the mayhem with them wherever they go, including four-player wireless connectivity. PSP players new to FlatOut will enjoy the instant jump-in-and-race game play.

Game play is based on the console version of Ultimate Carnage, with eight cars racing together and a variety of game play options. Players can select from 45 cars, 40 tracks, six varied environments, and more than 80 different racing combinations.

``Transferring FlatOut's unique game play style from consol to handheld is a tremendous developmental challenge,'' said Rob Noble, Empire's European marketing manager. ``The developer, Six by Nine, has done an exceptional job of taking the closely packed, highly destructive racing mayhem of FlatOut and squeezing it into a portable device. The results are stunning.''

Empire Interactive plans to launch FlatOut: Head On in Europe in early 2008, followed by a North American release.
