by Rainier on Dec. 7, 2007 @ 11:10 a.m. PST

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 will let players take the fight into their own hands with the debut of Superstar Fighting Styles. The game features eight unique styles, each having its own strategy and exclusive attributes. A brand new Struggle Submission System will give players intuitive and natural control over their WWE Superstars by using the game's popular analog controls. Realism and strategy are at the forefront, as players will now control the amount of pressure they apply to their opponents. In addition, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 will feature a significant Extreme Championship Wrestling presence, including a variety of Superstars, arenas and weapons.

Major League Gaming will produce, host and operate WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 qualifier tournaments beginning in January 2008 in three regions, including North America, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. The competition will continue throughout February 2008, with the four top players in each region moving on to participate in regional finals in early March. Two finalists from North America, along with a finalist from the United Kingdom and a finalist from Continental Europe, will then battle head-to-head at the grand finale, scheduled to take place during the 6th Annual THQ Superstar Challenge on March 27, 2008 at the House of Blues Orlando.

At the 6th Annual THQ Superstar Challenge, finalists will have the opportunity to not only play live against one other in front of a capacity crowd, but will also share the gaming spotlight with top WWE Superstars in attendance. The grand prize winner will receive two floor tickets to WrestleMania 24, which will take place on March 30, 2008 in Orlando, Fla., while each finalist will receive two stadium tickets to the event.
