'Ultimate Mortal Kombat' (NDS) Revealed

by Rainier on June 27, 2007 @ 11:16 p.m. PDT

Ultimate Mortal Kombat combines the visceral thrills of the classic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and the addictive puzzle action of the Puzzle Kombat component of Midway's best-selling Mortal Kombat: Deception in a single DS-friendly package. With new record-keeping capability, and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection multiplayer, players will be able take UMK anywhere for fighting action on the go.
Recently spun-off and renamed Other Ocean Interactive (formerly Backbone Charlottetown) is working on bringing Mortal Kombat to the NDS, according to an interview with Midway's Ed Boon. Ultimate Mortal Kombat is scheduled for November and is a conversion of the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 arcade game. It will support 2-player local or online multiplayer and include Puzzle Kombat, the Super Puzzle Fighter clone featuring super-deformed Mortal Kombat characters.
