'MapleStory' Update Adds New Territory

by Rainier on July 27, 2007 @ 10:21 a.m. PDT

Filled with vibrant backgrounds and charming characters, MapleStory is an online adventure game that centers around the “Maple World,” allowing players to combat monsters and develop their characters’ skills and abilities in an immense platform-inspired persistent world.

Nexon America also conducts the second part of its popular Summer Break event with a host of activities. MapleStory users can boost experience, earn more Maple Points and win prizes playing in-game or interactive events at Nexon.net.

Players can now vanquish monsters to retrieve tubes and surfboards or encounter fake bosses, who attack at random throughout the game. Users should mark their calendars for two-hour Double Drop events every Thursday and Saturday, as well as for special Game Master (GM) events for two hours each Wednesday and Friday.

Three of the events at Nexon.net focus on encouraging community interaction, including a Guild screenshot competition, which gives players a chance to win Maple Points. Players who comment on GM Blog postings or at The Forum will also have a chance to win.

MapleStory is always free-to-play, and as with all Nexon games, players can purchase Nexon Cash to spend in the Cash Shop on character and game enhancements. Dozens of items will be available for a bargain price during the Summer Break sale.

It’s an exciting time for MapleStory with its series of Summer Break events and the milestone addition of New Leaf City, introducing a horde of new monsters, non-player characters and an expanding city concealing a plethora of secrets for players to uncover during their quests.
