Fury is the ultimate competitive player versus player massively multiplayer online game. Combining the character advancement of a role-playing game with the high-speed intensity of a first-person shooter, Fury is perfect for PC gamers who want to waste enemies, not time.
We know we have to get better and we know that we have to improve the performance of Fury. We have made some improvements for the Fury Challenge client, however the big improvements will be seen in the release client. We know a lot of the issues and these are being addressed for the release client of the game for launch in October 2007.
I bet you don’t believe us, right?
Developers say these sorts of things all the time and just expect you to believe them. Instead of expecting you to believe us, we are going to setup a Public Test Server and allow all players to test the Release client as it is developed.
The Public Test Server should be available within the next week or so. We have some of our engineers working on a simple solution to allow you to access both Fury Challenge and the Release clients. When it is available please take a look and let us know if performance is better or not for you – without your feedback and DXDiag reports we cannot improve things for everyone.
We are going to be making some changes to the format and scheduling of Fury Challenge. Full details will be announced in a press release later today (September 14th), however we can tell you that the Challenge has been extended by one week. The schedule will now encompass two practice weekends (September 14-16 and 21-23) and the competition weekends will be pushed back by one week (September 28-30 and October 5-7).
I know your next question: So what happens to the release date? It will also be pushed back, and we will announce a revised date as soon as it is established. This will give us, and more importantly you, more time to test the performance fixes being implemented and verify that they really do work. Our priority is to release Fury as a stable game that meets your performance requirements.
Fury, developed down under by Auran, will be available for PC late October 2007.
