E3 Back to its Roots, Open to the Public?

by Rainier on Oct. 20, 2008 @ 5:51 p.m. PDT

The first details from E3 2009 are starting to trickle in, as G4TV revealed that next year's edition of the trade show will be held in June. According to the report, E3 will soften the attendance restrictions, allowing more people to head to the Los Angeles Convention Center between June 2-4, 2009. A different report from Newsweek goes even further and claims the show will be part trade/media and open to the public from June 5-6, 2009. While it will not be a free-for-all, the ESA will reportedly allow a much larger audience to attend; E3 2007 had approx. 5,000 attendees, and E3 2009 will be capped at 40,000.
