'Grand Theft Auto IV' (ALL) Gets Trophy Patch on Monday

by Rainier on Oct. 24, 2008 @ 12:47 p.m. PDT

What does the American dream mean today? For Niko Bellic fresh off the boat from Europe, it is the hope he can escape from his past. For his cousin, Roman, it is the vision that together they can find fortune in Liberty City, gateway to the land of opportunity. As they slip into debt and get dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city that worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't.

Developed by series creator Rockstar North and set in Liberty City, the latest installment in the enormously successful Grand Theft Auto series features a painstakingly detailed and life-like city for players to explore; a rich, immersive narrative experience; an original soundtrack highlighting the cultural eclecticism of Liberty City.

Among the 51 trophies to be released Monday, look for:

  1. One Man Army - only those that are wily enough to survive a 6-star wanted level for a full 5 minutes will be rewarded with this one.
  2. Dare Devil - an award for those who find and execute all of the Unique Stunt Jumps throughout Liberty City.
  3. Chain Reaction - an Achievement for those who can pull off blowing up 10 vehicles in 10 seconds or less.
  4. Liberty City Minute - for those that have completed the game story in less than 30 hours. As the Social Club’s Story Club leaderboard can attest, this is not an easy feat.

Rockstar Games’ Social Club online portal allows you to track your progress in Grand Theft Auto IV and see how you’re doing compared to your friends. New and current members in the United States and Canada who log into their Social Club accounts between Friday September 19 and September 28 may be eligible to win a grand prize package of a home entertainment system worth over $6,000 or a runner up prize package of an exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV branded Xbox 360 and a host of Grand Theft Auto IV merchandise.

Grand Theft Auto IV is currently available on X360 and PS3 and will be coming to PC on Nov. 18th in North America and Nov. 21st in Europe.
