The conference included presentations by Slitherine’s major licensors and partners for the development of videogames in the history genre: A&E Television Networks, with the HistoryTM and Military History brands, Scholastic with Horrible Histories and development partner BBC .
Under the History brand, Slitherine will be publishing History Great Battles of the Middle Ages, the sequel to chart hit, The History ChannelĀ® Great Battles of Rome, History Great Battles of the Middle Ages will release next spring on next generation platforms and another release, History Great Empires Pharaohs will launch on handheld devices this autumn.
Under the Military History brand two titles will be released in the Commander series for handhelds: Military History Commander Europe at War in February and Military History Napoleon Europe at War to follow later in the year.
The Horrible Histories license will see a first product released in May, targeting for the first time a younger and more casual audience. Horrible Histories The Ruthless Romans will be releasing for consoles and PC alongside a new live-action TV series on BBC television.
The first license agreement between Slitherine and the BBC, for the Battlefield Academy game, will be releasing for handheld platforms towards the end of next year. This ambitious project will see an innovative gameplay system merged with highly researched historical content to attract a wide and diverse audience.

Slitherine will be disclosing more information on each of these titles over the coming months, including a major presentation by Marketing Director Marco Minoli at the Handheld Learning Conference in London, on the 13th of October, where Slitherine are major Sponsors.
