PS3 Consumes Five Times More Electricity Than Fridge
by Rainier on June 3, 2008 @ 5:07 p.m. PDT
A study by an Australian consumer agency revealed that videogame consoles and plasma flat-screen TVs are power hungry appliances, even when they are on stand-by. Top of the list is the PlayStation 3, which according to the study would cost almost five times more than it would take to run a refrigerator for the same yearly period. Topping off the list are plasma TVs, desktop computers, Xbox 360, laptops, stereo systems and DVD players.
