'Insecticide' (PC) Ep. 1 Goes Gold - Screens

by Rainier on June 5, 2008 @ 5:11 p.m. PDT

Insecticide is a hard-boiled, fast-shooting detective game set in a festering future city where bugs have evolved as the planet’s dominant race. A murder at a powerful company leads police from the Insecticide Squad on a bug hunt through the city’s seedy underbelly, and into a mystery of epic proportions.

Insecticide’s gameplay puts players in the shoes of bug detectives charged with the task of investigating a mystery of epic proportions. Players will discover gameplay elements reminiscent of classic adventure titles, and action elements that will get the heart racing. Every aspect of the game brings players into a totally interactive world to discover, allowing them to put together and utilize clues to their fullest extent in hunting down culprits. Bringing the game to both PC and Nintendo DS opens a plethora of options and expands the possibilities of scenarios players will find themselves in. The unique input options of PC and NDS will allow for precise navigation to investigate environments and expertly control special talents of the characters.

Chrys Liszt is a rookie detective eager to make her presence known by eradicating crime in Troi. However, Chrys quickly discovers that her objective is easier said than done. What starts off as a string of petty crimes is, in fact, part of an intricate chain of events that will leave Chrys smack-dab in the middle of an epic mystery with Troi’s powerful elite.

The PC version of Insecticide promises more voice-overs and video than ever before and brings the world of Troi to life in a way that has yet to be experienced by gamers, raising the quality not typically seen in a downloadable title.

The downloadable Part 1 of ‘Insecticide’ on PC will be available June 13 for $14.99 through paradox, Direct2Drive, and GameTap.
