Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Civilization Revolution (NDS/PS3/X360)

Developed by 2K’s renowned Firaxis Games studio, Civilization Revolution ushers forth a new generation of strategic global domination, streamlined for players covering a wide range of ages and skill levels.

“It’s really exciting to bring the Civilization series to the console and handheld market in a whole new way,” said Sid Meier, director of creative development at Firaxis Games. “By starting the design from scratch, we were able to ensure Civilization Revolution has the fast paced aspect console gamers crave, while still delivering the strategic element fans of the series expect.”

In 1991, Sid Meier put computer gaming on the map when he delivered Civilization to the PC gaming world, launching the "God Game" genre and creating one of the most award-winning and addictive strategy series of all time. Built specifically for console and handheld systems, Civilization Revolution features the franchise’s fastest pick-up-and-play action to date and still honors the most beloved elements from the core series: strategic global reign and encounters with history’s most intrepid leaders. An intuitive tutorial has been designed to ease newcomers into the world of Civilization Revolution while varying difficulty levels are included that provide challenges to players of all skill levels. Civilization Revolution also takes advantage of the console architecture, providing a graphically and acoustically advanced experience that immerses players in the world of Civilization. Civilization Revolution for Nintendo DS delivers an experience that shares the same game core and features as its console counterparts

In the new streamlined and intuitive multiplayer component, players can log on to the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live online entertainment network or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and challenge other fans worldwide to determine the greatest ruler. PlayStation Network and Xbox Live users will also be able to download multiplayer maps and scenarios, and all three platforms support the Game of the Week online feature which provides new challenges every week after launch.

Civilization Revolution, rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and older, is now available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and NDS.

Carnival Games (NDS)

Carnival Games for NDS builds on the fun of the original by taking full advantage of the DS control mechanism. The title was inspired by Carnival Games, created originally for the Wii™ home video game system from Nintendo that has shipped over 1.5 million units worldwide, and was developed by Cat Daddy Games, 2K Play’s wholly-owned studio that created the franchise.

“Carnival Games is a brand that has come to stand for family fun,” said Steve Lux, vice president of business development for 2K Play. “By bringing the game to the world’s bestselling portable system just in time for the summer vacation and travel season, we look forward to expanding the ever-growing Carnival Games fan base.”

Each of the games was designed from the ground up for the system to ensure that Carnival Games maximizes the unique game play modes available on the DS. Gamers employ a frenzied combination of tapping, blowing, speaking and stylus-maneuvering to bring the expansive midway to life. Favorites including Alley Ball, Test Your Strength, Balloon Darts, Frog Leap and Nerves of Steel are complemented with all-new games including Bumper Boats, Clown Bonk, Wild West Showdown, Loud Mouth and RC Raceway.

Players can also explore the Carnival Games midway for the first time to discover hidden games and surprises. The game features a comprehensive customization mode where players can select gender, skin tone, and hair color. Players can win over 65 virtual prizes including an endless supply of Wacky Wearables, such as a pirate’s hat, frog feet, monkey mask and dragon wings.

The title was selected by Nintendo of America to be included in both its in-store kiosk and downloadable demo programs. The launch is supported by national advertising including TV commercials on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, print advertisements and a rich media online campaign.

Carnival Games for NDS, rated E for Everyone, is now available for $29.99.
