RAGE, an all-new take on the FPS genre, is set in post-apocalyptic wasteland after a meteor hits earth and wipes out civilization. At the Austin GDC, id Software lead designer Tim Willits said that game content is getting scaled back due to the X360's disc storage, an issue where Microsoft charges extra for games using more than two DVDs. Due to that restriction several wastelands that the player could explore has been reduced to two and while the overall story hasn't changed, the experience has been altered across all platforms. A valid concern, or merely pressure for Microsoft to wave the surcharge?
UPDATE: Willits issued a statement saying his words were misconstrued, that there will be NO content removed, but rather a decision was made to make less, but larger, wastelands, one for each DVD, to avoid frequent loading.

by Rainier on Sept. 16, 2008 @ 6:28 p.m. PDT
RAGE is an FPS set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, leaving a ravaged world behind. You emerge into this vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as bandit gangs, mutants, and the Authority – an oppressive government regime that has a special interest in you in particular.
