by Rainier on Sept. 19, 2008 @ 3:27 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Igor The Game (NDS/Wii/PC)

Igor The Game brings all of the elements of the film into the living room, and is now available on NDS, Wii and PC.

A hilarious twist on the classic monster movie, Igor tells the story of one Igor who’s sick of being a lowly lab assistant with a Yes Masters’ degree and dreams of becoming a scientist. When his cruel master kicks the bucket a week before the annual Evil Science Fair, Igor finally gets his chance.

Featuring the voice talents of John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Jennifer Coolidge, Arsenio Hall, Sean Hayes, Eddie Izzard, Jay Leno, James Lipton, Molly Shannon and Christian Slater, Igor is the must-see family comedy of the fall.

In the PC and Wii versions of the game, players choose one of four main characters - Igor, Eva, Scamper or Brain - and play through an adventure on their own or, on Wii, cooperatively with four people. Many of the challenges, locations and enemies in the game will be instantly recognizable for fans of the feature film.

The NDS version emphasizes a puzzle style gameplay where players perform movement combinations and fight enemies using the unique control methods. The Nintendo DS version also features a monster creation feature, and players can use their custom built monstrosities to take on puzzles or fight against the creations of other mad scientists.

“Igor is a wonderful film that has translated into a fun game for the whole family,” said Ariella Lehrer, President of Legacy Interactive. “Everyone has done a tremendous job creating a game that captures the essence of the film while also being a great pick up and play interactive experience.”

Igor The Game is now available in North America for NDS, WII and PC.

Loco Mogul (PC)

ApeZone's Loco Mogul is a train strategy game, for the casual PC digital download market.

The game lets you play a seasoned railroader turned entrepreneur, as you try to build your own circa 1850s railroad empire.

Loco Mogul has three distinct phases of play:

  • There's the Minesweeper-like search for hidden towns, mines, and other businesses in a territory.
  • There's the building phase, where players build a functional railroad, complete with train stations, junctions, bridges, and mountain tunnels.
  • Finally, there's the click-management phase, where players run their trains and try to maximize profits by delivering rail cars to their destinations in time.

At each step, players must ensure that they have enough cash to continue expanding.

"Most games involving trains are either hardcore financial simulations or train games in theme only." says Andrew Ewanchyna, the game's creator. "Loco Mogul tries to bridge the gap, providing a thoughtful, relaxing experience for the train enthusiast in all of us."

Loco Mogul can be ordered from the game's product page.
