For the first time in the series, players will step outside the Mortal Kombat universe to assume the heroic identities of world-renowned characters from the DC Universe, including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, as they join video game icons such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden. Making a fiendish appearance alongside their comic counterparts will be notorious DC Universe villains such as CatWoman, Lex Luthor and The Joker, who along with MK favorites such as Liu Kang, Sonya and Shao Kahn, all play a part in unraveling the mystery of what has caused these two universes to collide...

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe also continues to set a number of internal Midway records. The game was the most pre-ordered MK title in company history, and more than 3.6 million Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe matches have been played online worldwide for the PS3, according to numbers from GameSpy Technology,* which provides connected gaming, multiplayer and statistics gathering services to the title.
Featuring box art that was hand painted by Alex Ross, one of the world's most pre-eminent and respected comic book artists, the Kollector's Edition will come in special packaging and feature an exclusive removable print designed by Ross as well as bonus video content. In addition, John Tobias, co-creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise, returns to sketch a 16-page comic book to be published by DC Comics that chronicles the shocking, universe-shattering events that lead up to the in-game story mode.
