Video game industry veterans Nick Koziupa (Rainbow Studios), Brian Westergaard (Neversoft Entertainment, Rainbow Studios, High Voltage Software) and Dave Eberly (Gamebryo architect ) have announced the launch of Azo Studios, and plan to develop video games and middleware solutions for console, PC, and handheld devices.

"We are committed to building mutually beneficial relationships throughout the entertainment industry in order to provide high quality gaming experiences for a global audience," said Nick Koziupa, Azo Studios' president.

The studio's founding members bring extensive management, leadership, and production experience to the team. For over a decade, each has contributed to the development of critically acclaimed and commercially successful titles delivered across multiple video game platforms.

Eberly's background lends a distinct technology advantage to the studio. "We look forward to joining the video game community not only as a game developer but also as a provider of middleware solutions," said Koziupa. "Dave's prior experience as the chief architect of NetImmerse, the game engine that later became Gamebryo, puts Azo Studios in a strong position to develop cutting edge technology with an eye toward future licensing opportunities."

The team plans to develop intellectual property in-house and in conjunction with strategic partners in the music and entertainment industries. "Our goal is to ensure that creative vision guides our decision making process every step of the way," said Westergaard, Azo Studios' vice president.
