Atlus U.S.A., has secured the North American publishing rights for Kenka Bancho 3, a Japanese beat'em up for PSP, which puts players in the role of a high school student on a class trip to a historic Japanese city, includes no shortage of fist-to-face and knee-to-gut action, and all in the name of pride and bragging rights.
As the toughest student in a Japanese high school, it’s up to you to prove your badassitude when all the schools in the nation get together for a week-long learning excursion in the historic (and fictional) city of Kyouto. In this free-roaming brawler, you’ll take to the streets and start kicking ass to rise to the top in the world of juvenile delinquents. Hunt down more than 45 boss enemies, each with their own daily schedules and routines, and dispense righteous beatdowns before stealing their respect, their territory, and their personalized special moves.
Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble for PSP will also be available on PlayStation Network on Nov. 12th, two days after the game's November 10th retail release.
"We almost didn't get this press release out," admitted Crystal Murray, Public Relations Specialist at Atlus. "The game's raw beat 'em up action and addictive rise-to-the-top gameplay spontaneously ignited a king-of-the-hill style throwdown here at the Atlus offices. People were dressing up in all sorts of cool, unique outfits, just like in the game, and then proceeding to beat the living crap out of each other, vying for the title of ultimate Atlus badass. Unfortunately, things went awry when one of our editors ruptured a blood vessel in his eye trying to use his menchi beam. Get well soon, Clayton," she added, possibly tearfully.
Key Features:
- Freedom of choice — You have 7 days to wander through the city of Kyouto and discover all it has to offer a teenage hoodlum like you, so every minute counts! Travel around and interact with a diverse population. Pick a fight with virtually anyone, but beware the consequences… and the cops. With too much to see and do in a single playthrough, you’ll definitely need to plan on return visits.
- Badass fighting game — Becoming the one bancho to rule them all requires a wide repertoire of fighting moves, and you have an entire nation’s worth to learn and incorporate into your strategy. Fling insults and punches, and take down Japan’s 47 banchos. Then, customize your fighting menu with their regions’ special moves!
- Extra game modes — Two-player co-op ad hoc mode lets you run around with a friend to gain additional experience. Night Out mode lets you sneak out of the hotel after curfew to challenge Yakuza roaming about the town.
Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble, developed by Spike, will retail for $39.99
