Tales of Monkey Island: Rise of the Pirate God (PC)

In Tales of Monkey Island, hapless pirate Guybrush Threepwood embarks on a quest to find the voodoo exfoliating artifact, La Esponja Grande, after accidentally releasing the pox of LeChuck on the Caribbean's unsuspecting population (and his wife, Elaine). Along the way, Guybrush fends off a relentless pirate hunter, matches wits with a malicious marquis, overcomes fearsome foes with sabers at sea, and is nearly digested by a giant manatee while hunting down the pox-eliminating sponge. Rise of the Pirate God picks up after the cataclysmic events from the final scenes of chapter 4, which left audiences reeling after a resurgent LeChuck deals a mortal blow to the heroic mighty pirate.

“We’re very pleased with what Telltale has done with Tales of Monkey Island," said LucasArts' President Darrell Rodriguez. "From the onset, the Telltale team utilized their impressive creative chops to take Monkey Island in new and unexpected directions, reinforcing their reputation as pioneers in episodic gaming."

“The Telltale team set out to evolve episodic entertainment in a bold way with Tales of Monkey Island, and we've definitely achieved that," said Dan Connors, CEO and co-founder of Telltale, Inc. "Working with the team at LucasArts, we were able to deliver a grand saga with captivating storylines and characters that have engrossed audiences from one month to the next, and we're proud of the experience we've created for new and old fans alike."

The full Tales of Monkey Island series can be purchased for $34.95 on the Telltale website. Individual episodes can be purchased for $8.95 each. Tales of Monkey Island episodes are also available for WiiWare, and the finale is expected to release for this platform in the coming weeks.
