Screamer ($5.99)
Time has been very kind on Screamer, as the game hasn't aged as much as its release date would suggest. With the fast-paced races, bright, contrasting colors, hypnotizing engine sounds and a hyperactive commentator, you won't even notice the graphics are over ten years old. If you're looking for a 100% realistic driving simulator, you won't find it here. But if you want a dynamic arcade racing experience, packed with improbable power slides and burning rubber, it will be hard to find a better game than Screamer. And don't forget you can also play with friends, over a LAN or the Internet.
To celebrate the addition of Screamer to our games catalogue, we've launched the Racing Weekend Promotion! Until Monday, February 16 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, everyone can grab racing games form GOG.com's catalogue with a 15% discount. To benefit from the promotion enter the promo code: RACING15 on the payment screen, before finalizing the transaction. The promotion includes: 1nsane, Colin McRae Rally 2005, Flatout, Screamer and TOCA Race Driver 3.
But that's not all we've prepared for this weekend. What would a racing weekend be without a race? That's why we've prepared a Screamer time trail contest. The rules are simple: go to time attack mode, choose the Lindburg track and pick one of the cars (excluding the Bullet car). Grab a screenshot of the best time you manage to achieve and send it to users@gog.com. The player with the best time will receive a bonus code for a free game from GOG.com's catalogue. The contest ends on Monday, February 16 at 11:59 p.m. EDT and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. EDT. So fasten your seat belt and put the pedal to the metal!
