Developed by series creator Rockstar North and set in Liberty City, The Lost and Damned features a new main character and plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV; new missions that offer an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City with new multiplayer modes, weapons and vehicles; and a diverse soundtrack with additional music – all with the incredible production values that are the trademarks of Grand Theft Auto.
For the first time ever, starting Tuesday, February 17 at 9:00 am (PST), Xbox Live multiplayer service usually reserved for Xbox Live Gold members will be completely free of charge for Live members while playing Grand Theft Auto IV or The Lost and Damned -- the first exclusive downloadable expansion episode on Xbox 360. This limited, Grand Theft Auto multiplayer promotion is applicable only to players of either Grand Theft Auto IV or The Lost and Damned expansion episode, and will end on Sunday, February 22 (11:59PM PST). Be a part of this unprecedented event and join the legions of Grand Theft Auto fans across the world to wreak havoc upon Liberty City.
To help gamers get the most from their multiplayer access, Rockstar Games and Xbox Live are putting on a week of special events with the chance to take on Hip Hop DJ and producer, Statik Selektah in a special ‘Game with Fame’ event and even take on the people behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise in a ‘Game with Rockstar’ multiplayer event. Sweepstake promotions and an ‘Xbox All Nighter’ will also be part of the week of activities, full details and eligibility can be found at the official website.
In addition to delivering an all-new story and a new protagonist - Johnny Klebitz, Vice President of The Lost biker gang - The Lost and Damned features its own, all-new enhanced soundtrack that reflects the episode's story. To commemorate the launch of this all-new Grand Theft Auto experience, we've produced two separate albums, available exclusively on the iTunes Store in the US and iTunes Stores in Europe.
This first release is a collection of six original tracks produced by hip hop DJ Statik Selektah exclusively for the game. Statik Selektah's The Lost and Damned EP is available now, and features the following tracks:
Statik Selektah's The Lost and Damned EP
- Termanology - Here in Liberty City
- Freeway - Car Jack
- Saigon - Spit
- Skyzoo - the Chase Is On
- Consequence - I Hear Footsteps
- Talib Kweli - My Favorite Song
The second release features five more highlight tracks from the overall soundtrack and gives listeners a taste of the updated genres that now play across Liberty City's airwaves in this new episode. The Music of Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned is coming soon to the iTunes Store.
In addition to these releases, players can tag any song playing on the game's 16 radio stations by calling a special number on their in-game cellphone - ZIT - and creating a customized playlist. This personalized playlist automatically uploads to the players registered profile on the Rockstar Games Social Club site (rockstargames.com/socialclub) and can be heard within the built-in ZIT music player. From there, a simple click through to iTunes will pull up the custom playlist, and with one click on the iTunes Store players can purchase their entire playlist or songs within it. For those interested in purchasing the soundtrack, iTunes now offers a Grand Theft Auto IV destination page with each in-game radio station's playlist, exclusive albums and more, all accessible here
