Lighthouse Interactive Goes Bankrupt
by Rainier on March 23, 2009 @ 3:04 p.m. PDT
Lighthouse Interactive, known for titles such as Ship Simulator and Sword of the Stars, has been shut down, according to Dutch newspaper Het Parool. All personnel have been notified, and according to the curator, the business will not continue. The writing was on the wall recently, when Rhiannon rights reverted to the developers, and Paradox picked up East India Company. Lighthouse was formed in 2005 and did well for a few years, but last year's sale to Silverbirch turned out to be a bad move, as the parent company got into financial trouble and its shares were put on hold at the Toronto Stock Exchange.
