by Rainier on March 24, 2009 @ 1:32 a.m. PDT

RockFree is a free, browser based, online multiplayer rock game, where you will be able to create custom rocker avatars, open a rock club and battle against other people around the world. In the end, it's all about who rocks, who sucks and more importantly, who gets the coveted title of Rocker God!

You won’t find no-name songs in this game. Instead you’ll play thirty-two genuine licensed songs at no cost, made famous by bands like White Zombie, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Heart, Joan Jett, Iggy Pop and more!

Rockfree is a browser-based, flash-powered game that closely copies the mechanics of games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Users can upload any song they want, and play with up to seven friends in real-time.

Gamers can create their own online rocker persona, open a rock club and compete against seven other rivals in a rocker battle with four difficulty settings. As they play, rockers will gain fans and grow in fame, unlocking access to advanced songs, and awesome outfits. Chat inside your club, use emotes, make friends and climb the leaderboards.

Acclaim Games and WaveGroup, Warner Music, Sony and EMI have teamed up to do the music for RockFree. WaveGroup, spearheaded by Will Littlejohn who is credited on Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II and III, Karaoke Revolution Volumes 1, 2 and 3, and Blade Runner, is a integral part in the production of RockFree’s music.

March 31st, 2009 the battle to become a Rock Legend, and the coveted Rocker God begins! To join Open Beta for Rockfree, visit the official website.
