At a UK press event, Bethesda revealed that it is working on a new installment in the Fallout franchise. Developed by Obsidian (former Black Isle Studios, known for KOTOR II, Neverwinter Nights 2) on the PS3, X360 and PC, Fallout: New Vegas is not a sequel but a standalone game. Featuring the usual RPG elements, it's scheduled for 2010. It wasn't revealed whether the game uses the same engine as Fallout 3 or Obsidian's current project, Alpha Protocol, and fans hoping to get more info in the coming months might be disappointed, as Bethesda's Pete Hines told us that it is "highly unlikely" the game will be shown at E3.
