'Squeeballs' (ALL) Announced, First Multiplatform Motion-Control Game - Trailer

by Rainier on June 2, 2009 @ 3:38 a.m. PDT

The Squeeballs are 12 small, cuddly toy characters that are manufactured on a remote and secret island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Before they can be sold to children around the world, Squeeballs must be fully put to the test, to the point of destruction! You can blow up, cook, slice, bat, bowl, shoot and skim the Squeeballs through over 170 mini-game challenges.

Squeeballs is a collection of more than 150 unique challenges that showcases the capabilities of the Gametrak Freedom controller. In the game, Squeeballs are toys that are manufactured on a secret island somewhere in the Pacific and they must be fully tested by the players of the game before they can be sold to children across the world. By using the motion controller, players can blow up, cook, slice, bat, bowl, shoot and bounce the Squeeballs with greater accuracy than is capable with any other controller. “Squeeballs” is PDP’s first Microsoft-licensed title.

Motion-control gaming goes to a new level with the Gametrak Freedom, a proprietary and patent-pending ultrasonic 3D motion sensing technology that delivers performance and increases control and flexibility. Unlike other motion-control gaming systems, Gametrak Freedom accurately tracks the true 3D position and precise movements of up to four players anywhere within a given environment, providing unrivaled game play opportunities. PDP will launch the Gametrak Freedom exclusively for Xbox 360 in fall 2009.

For the Xbox 360, the game will be bundled with Gametrak Freedom, the first motion-control system for the Xbox 360. Performance Designed Products LLC (PDP), a top gaming accessory provider, is the developer of the game and technology.

“‘Squeeballs’ is unlike any other motion-control game out on the market,” said John Moore, senior vice president of marketing for the California-based PDP. “The graphics and visual elements are much more realistic and with so many unique challenges to choose from, the game will keep families entertained for hours.”

Giant-sized Squeeballs characters will come to life this week during the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Bully and El Toro, two characters from the game, will be out on the streets of downtown Los Angeles talking about the game, chasing each other, and passing out toys that resemble themselves.

“I do not eat other Squeeballs,” El Toro said defiantly. “Don’t believe anything you see in the game.”

Squeeballs is a fun family friendly motion-control game, and will be the world's first cross-platform motion game. The game will be available nationwide on Oct. 15, and is currently available for pre-order through certain retailers. For the Xbox 360, the “Squeeballs” and Gametrak Freedom bundle has a suggested retail price of $69.99. The game has a suggested retail price of $39.99 for the Wii and $29.99 for the NDS.
