A gameplay rich, feature laden "casually hardcore" action shooter, Madballs in...Babo:Invasion is that rarest of gaming commodities: a genuinely unique title. Featuring the recently re-released Madballs characters, Oculus Orbus and Horn Head, from the popular 1980's toys best remembered for their outrageously bad looks and graphically colorful names, MiBI is an arena-based 3D shooter where players are able to design their own combat maps almost instantaneously by placing a combination of map tiles to create a never-before-seen map before gameplay starts. Truly, no two games are ever the same.
Offering players a satisfying and immersive experience in both single-player and multiplayer, Madballs in...Babo:Invasion has a plethora of features and game modes such as 4-player online co-op along with, never-before-seen in an Xbox LIVE Arcade title, being able to incorporate your Xbox LIVE Avatar into multiplayer combat via the 'Avatar Attack' mode. Yes, Xbox LIVE Arcade combat just got personal. And with up to 16-player multiplayer support, MiBI will be one of the few Xbox LIVE Arcade games to support more than 8 players at a time, and the only avatar-based game to support 16 players.
As you may already know, the Xbox 360 received a generous update earlier this week that, along with other social features, encourages users to spend MS Points on virtual goods in order to outfit out their Avatars in all sorts of crazy fatigues: everything from Star Wars Clone Trooper and Gears of War armor to stylish TokiDoki and Quick Silver hats.
Now you can bet that the folks at PlayBrains were the first in line to strap these ornaments on their Avatar's noggins and put them all through the rigors of MiBI's Avatar Attack mode. In Avatar Attack mode, the Avatar's head is carefully removed from its body, equipped with a weapon of the player's choice and dropped into a free-for-all battle for supremacy.
After what could be deemed an Avatar fashion show, sure enough, very single new head piece exploded into a beautiful array of multi-colored confetti along with the Avatar head of course.
Here is a full list of the items included in the title update:
- Visual stutter fixed! - addressed the visual stuttering issue that some users were experiencing. This will ensure that all players get the silky-smooth gameplay that is the cornerstone ofMiBI.
- Game browser changes - changes to help players find the best matches
- Ping ratings - we've modified the behavior of the game browser to more clearly communicate the ping ratings of all servers
- Sorting - playerscan sort the list of servers returned by the game browser by pressing in on the Right Analog Stick [R3]
- Match size filtering - the match size filter (accessed via [RB] button) in the game browser now filters correctly according to the max # of players for the match...
- CTF scoring change - players now get 400 points for scoring in CTF - previously players only received 100 points, which wasn't enough of a reward vs. simply defeating other players.
- Score limit changes - upped the max score limits for versus matches (have added 10k, 15k and 20k targets)
- *Default* max-players now 8 - changed *default* max players in versus matches to 8 - players with higher bandwidth can set the max players to higher limits (up to 16 players). This was addressed due to some players not having adequate bandwidth to host 12-player matches.
- Quicker spawning - changed the spawn delays so that players who change their layout aren't penalized (do not have to wait maximum spawn time after altering their character and weapon selection)
- QuickJoin change - QuickJoin feature will now only suggest games that have friends in them (before it would recommend *candidate* games that sometimes might be on servers far, far away from you - resulting in laggy matches.
- Repeating sound fix - fixed sounds not being cut off at the end of some matches
Key Features:
- Single Player - Hours of repeatable gameplay through 10 epic levels
- 2-4 Player Online Co-op - challenge individual campaign levels with your friends or play the whole campaign in 'Enduro' mode
