'Hitman 5' Still At IO Interactive, Claims Eidos

by Rainier on Aug. 17, 2009 @ 12:01 a.m. PDT

Hitman: Absolution follows Agent 47, a cold-blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he once trusted — and now hunted by the police — he suddenly finds himself at the center of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world.
While a fifth installment in the Hitman franchise is not really much of a surprise, Eidos has yet to officially announce its existence. With last year's movie having done quite well and rumors of a second one in the planning stages, CEO Ian Livingstone revealed a few months ago that IO Interactive would be in charge of Hitman 5. Last week, actor Mark Sloan's resume stated that he did Hitman mo-cap at UK-based Rocksteady Studios for Hitman 5, but a new statement from Eidos' Livingstone says that the Batman developer is not working on the game, and as far as he knows, IO is still on the job.
