While the gaming industry was long pegged as recession-proof, the past few months sure have shown that the prolonged down economy is starting to take a toll. Earlier today, rumors surfaced that X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Wolfenstein developer Raven Software had to let go 30-40 employees, and now EA confirmed that it has laid off an unspecified number of people (although rumored to be in the dozens) at The Sims/Spore developer, EA Maxis.
