Good Old Games Adds Classic Kalypso Media Titles

by Rainier on Sept. 10, 2009 @ 6:03 a.m. PDT

GOG.com announce that Kalypso Media has joined the movement and will release some of its notable back-catalogue titles like Incoming + Incoming Forces, Expendable, Mobile Forces and Port Royale, most of them for just $5.99 each and DRM free.

Expendable, the ultra fast action game by Rage Games, puts the player in shoes of the Millennium Soldier – humanity's only hope in war against vicious aliens. The game will test your reflex and good eye while shooting hordes of bad guys across 20 levels with big array of weapons which only helps in causing destruction.

Incoming, also created by Rage Games, was a great-looking game when it was released back in 1998. Just like Expendable, Incoming was created to provide fast-paced and fun arcade-style gameplay in which the player has one mission: kill all of the alien invaders by any means necessary, be it manning a turret, tank, helicopter, harrier jet or even a captured alien fighter.

For a calmer gameplay, Kalypso brings to GOG.com's catalogue Port Royale. The first part of the business strategy series by Ascaron takes you to the 16th century Caribbean. The goal is simple – as one of the colonizers you have to become the Governor. Of course you can always take the path of grog and become the fearsome pirate and search for the hidden treasure if you want. The varied gameplay, including impressive economic system and patrolling seas with warships, were key features mentioned.

"We've been very impressed with GOG.com's gamer-friendly approach to digital distribution, and are excited to bring our games to the site," said Ian Richardson IGR limited. "We hope that new and existing fans will enjoy revisiting Rage Software's great classic titles."

“Signing the deal with Kalypso adds another dose of great games that were really well received by media and gamers all around the world to our catalogue,” said Adam Oldakowski, Managing Director of GOG.com. “Such gems as Incoming, Port Royale and Expendable can provide endless hours of fun.”

Expendable, Port Royale and the bundle of Incoming and Incoming Forces are already available on GOG.com for $5.99 each.
