While there is no word from TriStar whether they will commit to a follow up to the 2006 Silent Hill movie, which grossed $47 million in North America, screenwriter Roger Avary and producer Samuel Hadida have signed on to work on a sequel based on Konami's survival horror video game. Davis Films plans to start shooting next year as it is currently working on Resident Evil 4, while Avary, known for collaborating with Quentin Tarantino on Pulp Fiction, is currently writing the script for Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the French studio.

'Silent Hill' Movie Getting Sequel
by Rainier on Sept. 15, 2009 @ 5:51 p.m. PDT
Silent Hill: Homecoming marks the next-gen debut of the psychological horror series thrusting players into a shadowy world of chaos and terror with atmospheric HD graphics and an original storyline that sheds new light on the desolate, fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill. SH5 sports an all-new soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka, so it will be as iconic and chilling as it's always been.
