'Guitar Hero 5' (ALL) Details Importable Tracks, September DLCs

by Rainier on Sept. 2, 2009 @ 2:08 p.m. PDT

For the first time ever, you can customize the makeup of your band with any combination of instruments in-game: two guitars and two drums, or three guitars and a microphone, etc. GH 5 will also feature new gameplay modes like Party Play and RockFest putting fun, competition and control at center stage as fans tailor the experience to match their personal style and interests.

Featuring the best variety and biggest rock stars of today combined with classic rock anthems, Guitar Hero 5 is the latest installment of the world's most popular music game. For the first time ever, players can customize the make-up of their band by rocking with any combination of instruments in-game: whether it be two guitars and two drums, or three guitars and a microphone, any combination is possible, allowing players to experience music their own way. Brand new, innovative, easy-to-use gameplay modes like Party Play and RockFest put fun, competition and control at center stage as fans tailor the Guitar Hero experience to match their personal style and interests. For extended hours of entertainment, downloadable content from Guitar Hero World Tour will be compatible with the game and will automatically be updated to include all of the upgrades and enhancements of Guitar Hero 5.

Among the first-time-ever features of Guitar Hero 5 are: Party Play, where players can jump in or drop out of gameplay seamlessly; RockFest, a comprehensive competitive experience available featuring five new head-to-head modes playable online or in your living room; and the ability to play the entire set-list from the first time the game is turned on.

Guitar Hero 5 refines the player experience, enhances the art style and redesigns core features such as GHMusic Studio, making it the most accessible, fun-to-play and authentic experience for seasoned music gamers as well as first-time players. New innovations such as Band Moments, where bands are rewarded for hitting special note streams together and song challenges where gamers are tasked to play through a song a specific way, add a new competitive layer of excitement and accomplishment to the music rhythm genre.

The Guitar Hero Music Library will allow fans to create unique set lists from among the hundreds of songs that will be available when Guitar Hero 5 launches on September 1. In addition to the 85 tracks on Guitar Hero 5, fans will immediately be able to import select songs from Guitar Hero® World Tour.  Later this month, select tracks from Guitar Hero® Smash Hits will also be available for the GH Library.  In addition to the 150 downloadable songs currently available, new songs will be added each month.

On September 3rd, five never before released live tracks from ABKCO’s 40th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set Edition of “Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out! The Rolling Stones In Concert”will be featured exclusively as downloadable tracks in the GH Library.  For the first time ever, fans can play the blues-infused song “Prodigal Son (Live),” the acoustic track “You Gotta Move (Live),” as well as “Under My Thumb (Live),” “I’m Free (Live)” and the classic rock anthem “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction (Live).”   ABKCO’s 40th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set Edition of “Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out! The Rolling Stones In Concert” will be available November 3rd.

September will also bring new and exclusive music from some of today’s hottest acts, including rap/rock super group Street Sweeper Social Club, AFI, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Faint and Editors.

In concert with the launch of Guitar Hero 5, owners will be also able to bolster their Guitar Hero Music Library with the ability to import 35 songs from the acclaimed Guitar Hero World Tour for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft for 280 Microsoft Points and on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system for $3.49 and Wii™ for 350 Wii Points.
