Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version return players to the scenic Johto region first introduced in the beloved original Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver games nearly a decade ago. The richly detailed adventure of Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver is now enhanced for the NDS(i) systems with updated graphics and sound, as well as new touch-screen features and a host of surprises. Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version bring dozens of Pokémon characters back into the limelight for a new Pokémon generation – and longtime fans – to catch, train and battle.
It has been 10 years since Pokémon fans first visited the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version video games. To commemorate this historic occasion, Pokémon Trainers can get the Rare Psychic-type Pokémon Mew for the original titles’ remakes, Pokémon HeartGold Version or Pokémon SoulSilver Version, for the NDS family of systems via a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection distribution event October 15 through October 30, 2010.
At first, it was believed that there were only 150 Pokémon. As #151 in the National Pokédex, Mew was the original secret Pokémon, revealed for the Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version video games. Over the past 12 years, Mew has very rarely been attainable, making this an extraordinary opportunity for Trainers across the nation.
The Mew character you will receive is a Level 5 and comes with one basic Normal-type attack, Pound, giving Pokémon Trainers the ability to raise and train Mew as they see fit. Making this distribution especially exclusive, Mew comes inside a Cherish Ball and has a Premier Ribbon, both indicating that you got it via a special event.
During the limited distribution period, players will need to receive Mew using the Mystery Gift option via the Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection service and their existing wireless broadband Internet access, and will need to acquire the Pokédex in the game. Players must also have fewer than three Wonder Cards in their game.
Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version games lets players continue to enjoy the world of Pokémon away from their Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi systems, taking their favorite Pokémon with them wherever they go with the new Pokéwalker accessory. This new accessory will come included with each copy of these games.
In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, players can wirelessly transfer any one of their Pokémon from one of the two games to the Pokéwalker and walk them through virtual routes as the player walks around in real life. By walking, players earn Watts, which are used within the Pokéwalker to encounter and catch wild Pokémon or search for hidden items, and can be transferred into Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions to unlock new routes. There are even special versions of certain Pokémon that can only be found within routes on the Pokéwalker, giving players added incentive to keep their Pokémon with them wherever they go. The Pokémon in the Pokéwalker will gain experience points as the player walks, and can even go up one level when they are transferred back into the game. Players also can wirelessly connect two Pokéwalkers to trade items
