'Reload' (Wii/PC) Announced - Screen

by Rainier on Oct. 27, 2010 @ 4:31 a.m. PDT

Reload is a realistic weapons and tactics simulator which will put players into the boots of exhibition shooters, soldiers and law enforcement officials.

Featuring more than twenty-five weapons from some of the best known firearms and shooting gear manufacturers, players will be able to take to the range, deploy into the field or run through various drills with accurate likenesses of weapons and equipment used by professionals all over the world.

Reload is one of the first non-violent tactical shooting simulators ever created; focusing on the experience of professional shooting without the blood and violence that usually permeates other games in the FPS genre.

Remington, whose brand recognition is second only to Nike with sportsmen, is featured prominently in Reload within the game's target and skeet shooting levels.  Whether players are looking for the power of the 870™ Express® Super Slug or the accuracy of the R-15™ 450 Bushmaster, players will see and hear accurate recreations of the latest Remington firearms, such as:

  • 887 Nitro Mag
  • Model 1100 Tac4
  • Model 700 CDL SF
  • Modular Sniper Rifle (MSR)

These weapons will join a variety of firearms from other companies, as well as a suite of military hardware from companies such as Wiley X®, exclusive supplier of protective eyewear to the US military, Magnum Research, the manufacturer of legendary magnum-caliber Desert Eagle® Pistol, and Champion Traps and Targets, makers of eco-friendly clay targets and shooting accessories used by professional shooters throughout the world. Players will take aim with heavy duty firepower such as the M32 grenade launcher, the AR-16 and the AA-12 shotgun, frequently called the ultimate military weapon due to its ability to deliver almost 300 12-gauge rounds in a minute. Other military weaponry included within Reload are:

  • AK-47
  • MP5
  • M-107
  • .50 Cal LRSR
  • .50 Cal Mounted on M988 Troop Carrier
  • Mini-gun mounted on M988 Troop Carrier
  • M249

Mastiff has also partnered with leading shooting equipment manufacturers to include accurate likenesses of equipment such as Wiley X® protective shooting glasses to fully immerse the player in the most detailed weapons and tactics simulator ever made.

"Mastiff is partnering with companies like Remington, Champion Traps and Targets, and Wiley X® because our customers want serious outdoor action in the games they play," according to Danny Hammett, Executive Vice President of Mastiff.  "Having accurate likenesses of the real firearms and shooting equipment in our games dramatically amps up the realism factor."

Reload is designed as a fast-paced, fun and easy to play simulator for up to four players that presents a variety of target training events and scenarios to test your skills.  Players can take aim on an indoor or outdoor range and fire at stationary or moving targets or test your speed and accuracy with reflex drills. Based on the players score and accuracy, additional medals, gear and rewards will be unlocked.

Players interested in tactical situations can engage in scenarios set in places like embassies, apartments and villages, where players will need to hit "bad guy" targets while leaving "hostages" alone both on foot and from the turret of a mini-gun and .50 Cal mounted on a M998 troop carrier. All of the firearms found within Reload are modeled for accurate likenesses and sounds, and come from leading arms manufacturers that are some of the best known brand names in hunting and shooting gear.

Reload, rated "T" for Everyone ages 13 and up, will be released on the Wii and PC for $19.99.
