'Bloodline Champions' Confirmed Free-To-Play, Gives Away Beta Keys

by Rainier on Nov. 3, 2010 @ 1:55 p.m. PDT

Bloodline Champions is an arena-based player vs. player game featuring unique and action-packed gameplay for up to ten people.

Bloodline Champions is a PVP game with short, intense matches for up to ten players divided into two teams. Chance is not a factor, spells and abilities do a set amount of damage. Random elements such as critical hits and passive abilities do not exist. Every spell is aimed and can be avoided by enemy players, making every ability dependent on individual player skill. Without mana and creeps, the game has almost zero downtime and is instead based on short cooldowns, this coupled with the absence of elements such as grind and farming ensures that every match is full of action.

'Bloodline Champions' represents the next generation of arena-based multiplayer games. Offering fun and fast-paced action for both casual and hardcore gamer, 'Bloodline Champions' will push your skill to the absolute limit. Battle it out with thousands of players around the world and master your bloodlines in the quest to become the ultimate champion!

Over the past few weeks over 100,000 players have joined the game to challenge each-other in furious battles in the upcoming free-to-play arena game. Now, Funcom and Stunlock Studios would like to invite even more players to join the fun. This week sites in US, UK, France, Germany and Italy started out giving out free beta keys, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the fast-paced action of 'Bloodline Champions'.

All you have to do is visit this page on the official 'Bloodline Champions' website to see where keys are being given away. Keys are first come, first serve and the give-away is time-limited.

"We are very excited about the growing interest that we are seeing for 'Bloodline Champions' in the various gaming communities," says Funcom Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, Morten Larssen. "Funcom is thrilled to be a part of this success story as a publisher, and with over 100,000 players now having joined the free beta, we are more convinced than ever before that Stunlock Studios have put together a rock-solid online multiplayer game that will appeal to both the competitive gamers out there and to the mass gaming audience."

"It's been a dream come true for us to be able to turn 'Bloodline Champions' into the game that we are playing today," says Stunlock Studios CEO Tau Petersson. "Coming from such humble beginnings, to see the game being enjoyed by over 100,000 players is simply amazing. We are very proud of the game that we have put together, and we are all thrilled to have so many players in the beta to provide us with valuable feedback that we need to turn the game into something even greater than it is today."

Funcom & Stunlock Studios can now confirm that the game will be available as a free to play game with micro-transactions through an in-game store. The store will hold a variety of items, ranging from additional Bloodlines, to weapons, skins and titles.

We are committed to ensuring the game is always a level playing field. The payment options will provide players with greater options and more variety, not actual power in-game.

In addition to the in-game store, a variety of different game packs will be made available through the account pages, containing assorted goodies at a reduced price.
