by Rainier on Feb. 11, 2010 @ 12:00 a.m. PST

Raven Software's new sci-fi shooter Singularity is set on a small, unnamed island occupied by the Russians, Cold War tensions rise once again when a U.S. pilot discovers the horrific truth that became of experiments with element E99 in the 1950s.

During its conference call yesterday Activision also confirmed the earlier rumored delay, currently set for Q2 2010.

Singularity pits shooter and sci-fi fans against a devastating fracture in time. As players attempt to unravel a conspiracy, they must fight their way through ever-shifting epic sci-fi environments, occupied by Russian soldiers and time-ravaged creatures, while sudden time waves hurl them back and forth between 1950 and the present day. Use time as a weapon as you attempt to unravel the mystery and prevent a catastrophic event that threatens all humanity.

In collaboration with Twistory Studios and Image Publishing, industry veterans David Atchinson, of the Occult Times Taskforce, Davide Fabbri, with credits from Heavy Metal and Dark Horse’s Star Wars, Christopher “mink” Morrison, whose narrative works include, Dust, 13 Chambers and Dark Horse's upcoming Shinjuku with Yoshitaka Amano, and Tom Mandrake, a renowned artist of Batman and The Punisher, will tell the story of the shadowy events, which occurred off the Russian Peninsula, that unraveled time as we know it and ultimately led to the Singularity. The single issue graphic novel will be available following the launch of Singularity the game.
