Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising features a new playable army, the traitorous Chaos Space Marines, and continues the epic journey of the Blood Ravens as they battle this new, more personal enemy. Developed by internal studio Relic Entertainment, Chaos Rising, offers new single-player and co-op campaigns, a level cap increase from 20 to 30, more powerful war-gear and a suite of innovative multiplayer options.

Chaos:
- Inferno Bolters damage has been reduced from 39 to 35
- Chaos Predator max speed increased to 5.7 from 5.2
- Chaos Lord has had his armour type changed from Heavy Infantry to Commander
- Removed melee resistance from the Bloodcrusher
- Increased the in combat ranged modifier to 1 from 0.5 for the Bloodcrusher
- Bloodcrusher size has been changed to Large from Huge

Orks:
- Looted Tank max speed increased to 5.5 from 5
Tyranids:
- Ravener Tunnel HP has been reduced to 175 from 250
Bug Fixes:
- Bloodcrusher now has appropriate upkeep cost
- Stikkbomb_pvp damage type has been modified to damage units in buildings
- Plague Marine Champion death explosion will no longer hurt invulnerable units
- Force Commander and Assault Terminator lightning claw special attack changed from a 0.5 second sweep to an instant pie attack.
- Ravener Alpha no longer reduces his AV damage modifier by re-equipping the corrosive devourer multiple times
- The received range damage modifier while fleet of foot is active on a Banshee squad with an Exarch is now exclusive and will no longer stack with other received range damage modifiers
- The received range damage modifier from Distortion field is now exclusive and will no longer stack with other received range damage modifiers

Veterans of the Dawn of War II single player campaign can use their existing squads’ accumulated wargear, abilities and experience to battle the traitorous Chaos Space Marines of the Black Legion throughout 20 new missions. Newcomers to Dawn of War II will begin the single player campaign with a squad of Space Marines fully equipped to take on the malevolent forces of Chaos. Powerful Chaos tainted wargear can be equipped and used against your enemy, but doing so could lead to dreadful consequences. Will you risk corruption for power?
In Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising you will take command of the Blood Ravens and defend the sector against the Chaos Space Marines of the Black Legion. Purge the chaos filth and hold the chapter together as traitorous forces work from within to try bring down the Blood Ravens.
- Upgrade your squads with new legendary wargear and unlock new special abilities, as your squads advance to level 30. Will you remain steadfast to the Emperor or risk heresy to gain new dark and destructive powers?
